#586 closed defect (fixed)

Space key does not replace selection

Reported by: rongarret Owned by: gb
Priority: minor Milestone:
Component: IDE Version: trunk
Keywords: Hemlock Cc:

Description

If there is an active selection and you press the space bar, the selection is collapsed instead of replaced. The buggy behavior is confined to the space bar only. All other keys work properly.

#\space is ordinarily bound to something that inserts a space and maybe tries to echo the arglist of the function whose name precedes that space.

I can't think of a reason why that insertion shouldn't replace the selection, but it's not entirely surprising that a different code path behaves differently from the simple self-inserting-character case.

(In [15332]) arglist on space command: use CURRENT-POINT-FOR-SELECTION (not CURRENT-POINT.)
