#936 worksforme delete-package on a package that does not exist should behave better Francois-Rene Rideau
Description

Dan Weinreb 2009-09-08 15:09:04 EDT

delete-package, when called on a name that does not name a package, should return nil according to the Common Lisp hyperspec rather than signal a condition (for better or worse). Instead, it signals.

Comment 1 Ethan H. Schwartz 2009-09-10 17:22:03 EDT

from http://www.lispworks.com/documentation/HyperSpec/Body/f_del_pk.htm#delete-package:

Exceptional Situations:

If the package designator is a name that does not currently name a package, a correctable error of type package-error is signaled. If correction is attempted, no deletion action is attempted; instead, delete-package immediately returns nil.

[NB1: there are other exceptional situations in the CLHS]

[NB2: this was ITA bug 67561]

	 Darwin Kernel Version 11.3.0: Thu Jan 12 18:48:32 PST 2012; root:xnu-1699.24.23~1/RELEASE_I386
Kernel configured for up to 2 processors.
2 processors are physically available.
2 processors are logically available.
Processor type: i486 (Intel 80486)
Processors active: 0 1
Primary memory available: 2.00 gigabytes
Default processor set: 132 tasks, 554 threads, 2 processors
Load average: 2.19, Mach factor: 0.58

After having recompiled 1.8 with:

	ccl --no-init --batch --eval '(ccl:rebuild-ccl :full t)' --eval '(ccl:quit)'

M-x slime RET fails as follow. But then if I M-x slime again, it boots correctly and ,restart three more times are ok.

Recompiling again as above, and M-x slime RET works. It might be a one-off bug.

#979 worksforme Trac sometimes logs users out inexplicably Francois-Rene Rideau
Description

I just spent half an hour writing a detailed bug report. When I clicked "preview", the website told me I didn't have write permissions because I wasn't logged in. I had logged in earlier, but my login somehow timed out because of dubious "security" settings. Now the form is reset and my bug report is lost.

I'm pissed.

Can you fix your interface so that it (1) won't log me out so fast, and (2) won't drop my painfully written bug report.
