Release Notes for Clozure CL 1.11
It has been about a year since the last release of Clozure CL, so a new release is certainly due.
Clozure CL 1.11 runs on the following platforms:
- Mac OS X 10.6 and later (x86, x86-64)
- Linux (x86, x86-64, armv7l/armv6)
- FreeBSD (x86, x86-64)
- Solaris (x86, x86-64)
- Microsoft Windows XP and later (x86, x86-64)
This release does not support the PowerPC.
To obtain a pre-release copy, you must check it out via Subversion. For example, to get the 1.11 pre-release for Linux/x86, you would type (where the $ is a shell prompt):
$ svn co http://svn.clozure.com/publicsvn/openmcl/release/1.11/linuxx86/ccl
To get a version for a different platform, change the linuxx86 to one of darwinx86, freebsdx86, solarisx86, windows, or linuxarm.
New in Release 1.11
Various bug fixes and performance improvements.
The bundled ASDF is version 3.1.5.
Hans Hübner added support for IPv6 to CCL's socket facilities. You can test for the presence of IPv6 support by looking for :ipv6 on *features*. The documentation ( http://ccl.clozure.com/docs/ccl.html#programming-with-sockets) was updated accordingly.
The internals of readtables have changed to better support defining large numbers of macro characters. (see ticket:1282)
Lock-free hash tables no longer shrink below minimum size after rehash/clrhash. (see ticket:1258)
Please use the Trac instance at http://trac.clozure.com/ccl to review existing bug reports and to submit new ones.
